One of my favorite quotes is...

“Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.”  -Lou Holtz

I believe that any student can learn.  It is a matter of wanting to learn and valuing their education.  I set the bar and expect students to reach, if not, surpass it.  I provide all students with the instruction and the support to be successful.  However, students must be an active part of this process!  My chosen career is full of challenges and yet is so rewarding.  I enjoy being with the kids - teaching them, of course, but also helping them with issues that arise during the school year.  There is nothing better than seeing students grow academically, achieve personal goals, or simply transition into young adults with confidence.  I will continue to bring my best to Minerva Middle School each day for our kids!

Professionally, I am active in our district and support my colleagues through my involvement in our Local Professional Development Committee, Member of “The Minerva Plan” (Working on various initiatives - RttT, OIP, CCIP, Common Core and State Standards), RTI Coach, OEA/MLEA Building Representative, Google Trainee, YEC committee, MMS Discipline/Building Operations Committee, and Building Leadership Team.  I very much enjoy taking pictures for our Memory Book each year! In the past, I have served the Minerva community by volunteering as a Minerva Youth Basketball Coach,  AAU Basketball Coach, Minerva Youth Softball Assistant/Statistician, and President of the Varsity Girls Basketball Mother's Club.

Personally, I grew up in Malvern with my wonderful parents, Dan & Debbie Clear and I have 2 siblings, Janette Murphy and Daniel Clear.  I attended Kent State University after graduation and received my Bachelor's Degree in Education.  I went on to earn my Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Nova Southeastern University.  I have been married for 27 years to Herb Foutz.  We share 2 daughters - Macy Alexandra & Maddie Kay.  Macy just completed her Doctorate Program at Mount Union to become a Physical Therapist (so we have a DOCTOR in the house :) and Maddie is studying Middle Childhood Education at Kent Stark.  Both are very active and put great effort into pursuing their goals.  We also have two dogs - Cooper, a blue pitbull mix, and Cato, a bulldog/boxer/terrier mix.

Life is very busy at the Foutz house but I wouldn't have it any other way :)
