I was born and raised in the Anderson/Palo Cedro area. I attended Junction Elementary School and Anderson High School. I was very active in the Future Farmers of America and received my American Farmer Degree. I raised cattle for my FFA project, and still enjoy raising a few today. I also have fun training my border collie and entering a few stock dog trials. Horseback riding is one of my favorite past-times.
With my agriculture background, teaching at Millville is a perfect fit for me. I love looking out the window at the cows and horses. The families are fantastic, and I can usually relate to the students’ interests since I love animals, hunting, fishing, and quad riding. There always seems to be a few students from Millville with similar interests.
I have two boys who went to Millville for part of their elementary school years. They are now grown. My oldest is a high school art, photography, and video production teacher. My youngest is in his last year of college studying to be a biologist.
This will be my 20th year teaching at Millville and I’m looking forward to it as if it were my first! I am a strong believer in the growth mindset approach to learning, and I enjoy learning right along with my students everyday.
