The Toolbar:
You will notice that the Google Docs toolbar is very similar to the Microsoft Word toolbar. Most functions are located in the same place as in Microsoft.

Changing the Font:
After (or before, depending on your process) you have entered your text, you can change the fonts. Google has its own set of fonts to use. You choose the font you want, just like in Word.
However, if you want a different font, Google allows you to go through their database of fonts and add any you want to your Goggle account. Simply click on “More Fonts” at the end of the font menu, and select the fonts you want to add. You will then see those fonts available in your drop-down menu.
Inserting Elements:
You can add images, tables, word art, hyperlinks, and many other items to your document using the Insert menu. Select the item you want to add, and use the menu or options to format it to your specifications.
Downloading the Doc:
You can download your Doc as a Word file or a PDF to share with others, or send via email.
Sharing the Doc:
You can share your Doc with other users for revision or collaboration purposes. Simply add their email and set their access permissions.
Using Add-Ons:
Google has lots of app-like add-ons that you can add to do various functions in your Doc. Take a few minutes to look through the add-ons and try some of them out.
