The new Google Calendar is very similar to the current Outlook Calendar. You can create events and invite people to attend via email. You can also create shared calendars to keep everyone in the group up to date on scheduled events.
Opening Calendar
Sign into your Google account via Gmail (www.gmail.com)
Open your “Waffle” and click on the Calendar icon.
Creating a New Event:
Click on the red “Create” button on the left.
Fill in the details of your event.
If this is an all day event, check the box marked “All Day”.
If this is a repeating event, check the box and set up the details of the occurrence of each event. Click “Done”.
Click the red “Save” button at the top of the screen.
Your event is now on your calendar.
Inviting/Sharing Events with Others:
While scheduling your event, find the section on the right to “Add Guests”.
Create a name and/or description for your calendar.
Scroll down, and add the emails for the people you want to include in the group.
Change the permission settings so that each person can create/modify events.
Click “Create Calendar”.
