Welcome to Mrs. Bonilla's FACS Class!

Hello! I am very passionate about Family and Consumer Sciences! These courses are designed to prepare students for life outside of school and can help improve many life skills that are necessary for college, careers, and advanced citizenship. FACS courses teach many skills from personal finance to garment construction and family dynamics to dietary needs and much more!

Another important aspect of FACS is the integration of community involvement. I try to encourage community service within the time limits of my classes but it is much more meaningful when students join FCCLA. I encourage all students to join Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America so that they can improve the skills they are learning in their FACS Classes.

FCCLA is a national, student-run organization that utilizes FACS skills to help students excel.

Check Google Classroom!!!

We use learning platform for sharing electronic assignments and resources. We will use this platform nearly every day in our class so it is very important that students come to school with a full charge on their device! Students are responsible for checking Google Classroom every day.

Make sure Allergy Forms are turned in and on file in order to participate in Foods Labs. There are extra copies in the FACS classroom and you can also find an online version in the forms tab. If the student does not have an Allergy Form on file there is an alternative assignment available, but labs are the preferred method of assessing learning.

Look into joining FCCLA and/or SADD to improve your extra-curricular schedule! These organizations look great on college applications and offer scholarships! Leadership skills,
