The Friends of the Mifflin County Library ("Friends") is an affiliate of the Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries("PCBL") and is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).

A significant cutback in funding to the Mifflin County Library was the catalyst to the formation of the Friends in September 2010. Through December 2013, the Friends has raised approximately $42,000! Funds raised by the Friends are used to provide financial support to the Mifflin County Library("Library") so that it may accomplish its mission as set forth by the Library Board.

The Library needs Friends! This is an opportunity for you to give back to your community. We need your time, talent, ideas, and skills. Your level of involvement is totally your call.

Meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. at the Lewistown Branch of the Library. The 2017 meeting dates are as follows:
  • March 28th
  • May 23rd
  • July 25th
  • September 26th
  • November 28th
