Culture and Arts

Paraguay has many fascinating art forms, including ceramics, wood carving, and theater. Ceramics are one of the many popular art forms in Paraguay. One museum in Asuncion is dedicated to ceramics alone.

Wood carving is made for urns, chairs, and statues. All of these are considered 'basic handiwork' in Paraguay.

Basket weaving is a very popular art form in Paraguay.

Paraguayan theater has a Spanish influence. It follows all the basic staging rules and theatrical pieces.

Some awesome cultural things that will be going on during the World Cup are the Nanduti Festival in Itaugua shows off the lace making skills of women in the community. Another festival that is all over the country is Dia de San Juan which takes a more lighthearted look at Saint John with food, games and music.
