November 2017-We have been celebrating Anti Bullying Week and raising money for children in Need by donating money for wearing mad hair to school and filling Pudsey with pennies on the playground!

October 2017 - The school council are very pleased to announce they raised £193.00 at our Macmillian Coffee Afternoon in September. Thank you to everyone for coming!

This page shows you some of the events that the children of Iceni Academy-Hockwold have taken part in.

The FOHSA held our annual Easter Bingo, we had a great time! I hadn't won an egg but Francesca was very kind and gave me the egg that she won. It made my evening! Thank you Francesca!

The school council decided that they wanted to run a 'Design an Easter Egg competition'. Here are the winners! They also held an Easter Egg hunt for every child in school! The photos are on the photos page.

We ave just finished pancake racing as part of our Shrove Tuesday celebrations. Each family group did really well with the captains organising each race. The winning family group was Trinity! Well done everyone! Go to the photos section to see the pictures!

Today (10th February 2017) we have raised money for Great Ormond Street Hospital by coming to school with bad hair and funny hats.  These are the teachers with their hats!

Oak's World War 1 play was performed on Tuesday 18th October to a very appreciative audience of parents and KS2 children.

Queen's 90th Birthday Celebrations at Hockwold

Thank you to everyone who came to our Information evening. We had examples of E-readers, Lexia, Mathletics, the year 1 phonics screening, sporting activities and refreshments in our canteen. Teachers were also available to discuss the SATs and end of year expectations. 45 families were represented and comments were very positive. I'd also like to thank the staff members who stayed and helped run the evening-It wouldn't happen without them! Here are some photos of the evening.
On 4th March children from each family group decided on an area to clean to make our school nicer for the Queen's 90th birthday. The children cleaned and washed the trim trail to make everything sparkly! Well done everyone!

British Values
We have been learning about The British Values during our assemblies. The British Values are:
The Rule of Law
Democracy
Individual Liberty
Mutual Respect
Tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

We have been learning about how these values are an integral part of school life, such as how democracy is used in class councils and the Rule of Law works in our reward and behaviour systems. It would be really helpful for you to talk about the British Values together at home too.
