Welcome to Essential Skills!

I'm looking forward to working with your student in the enhancement rotation. Fourth and fifth graders will focus on writing and movement during Essential Skills. EMIS has some budding writers in our midst! New for sixth graders in Essential Skills this year, we will read and discuss The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey. We will also implement key concepts by completing a project related to our school theme of Be The One. We are excited about the positive impact on our students, school, and community.  Ask your student about what they're learning, and encourage them to make writing a daily habit.

This is my 6th year at EMIS, and I'm super excited to be here! In 2016, I joined the enhancement team teaching Essential Skills after years as a math and reading tutor. My bachelor degree in Communications came from Purdue University. I grew up in Indiana and finally escaped the frigid temperatures and snow when I joined my husband in North Carolina in 2003.

My husband, Joey, works for Joe Gibbs Racing where he sets up the #19 NASCAR Cup car driven by Daniel Suarez. We also operate a small family lawn care business. Our youngest daughter, Faith, is a 6th grader at EMIS, and our oldest daughter, Paige, is at MMS in the 8th grade. Collin, our youngest son, is a Sophomore studying chemistry at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and rows for the Men's Crew Team. Justin, our oldest son, is married with two adorable sons. We have a dog (Cosmo), a bearded dragon (Goliath), and several salt water fish. The Fellores household is full of life!

In my spare time, I love to read and spend time with my family. I also volunteer with a non profit organization as a public speaker. My hope is to encourage every single child who I come in contact with throughout the day. Thank you for sharing your student with me!
