The vision of East Mooresville Intermediate School is to be a School of Excellence as recognized by the community and the State of North Carolina.

Mission Statement

The mission of East Mooresville Intermediate School is to enable students to develop the skills necessary to become responsible global citizens, compete in the international marketplace, and become lifelong learners.

Student Pledge

At East Mooresville Intermediate School, we believe that all children can be successful. With the combined efforts of parents, teachers, and students, every child can reach his or her full potential. By following the guidelines below, students can do their part in helping to achieve success. We ask that students commit to doing the following every day:

  1. Take responsibility for your learning. This means:
  • Arrive at school on time.
  • Be prepared for class.
  • Demonstrate a serious and responsible attitude in daily work.
  • Complete and turn in homework on time.

  1. Take responsibility for your behavior.  This means:
  • Be honest and truthful at all times.
  • Admit when you have made a poor choice and make better choices next time.
  • Express your feelings thoughtfully and calmly to others.

  1. Follow the directions of adults in charge. This means:
  • Demonstrate attentive behavior when listening to directions.
  • Communicate respectfully with teachers or adults in charge.

  1. Settle differences in a peaceful manner. This means:
  • Working towards a solution by listening to each other instead of using aggressive behaviors.
  • Agreeing on a solution that feels fair to everyone and use it.

  1. Be sensitive to the needs and feelings of others. This means:
  • Using school appropriate language at all times.
  • Treating others with kindness, patience, courtesy, and understanding.

  1. Act safely and keep our school clean. This means:
  • Respect your own and others’ properties, body, and personal space.
  • Follow guidelines for safety in areas of the school, both inside and outside.
  • Clean up after yourself.
  • Follow school and playground rules.
