MHS Gifted Services are provided to those students who meet eligibility requirements as set by the NM PED.  Services are based on each student's needs as identified by his/her IEP.  Students are assigned a certified gifted teacher who manages his/her educational plan by providing services both within and outside of the regular classroom. Guidance in college planning and finding appropriate enrichment extra-curricular activities is also provided.

April 29, 2015
  • Camp Cardiac - a national camp that will be hosted by UNMH this summer. If you are interested in studying medicine, check this camp out. If you want to apply for a scholarship to attend, your application is due May 8th. If you plan to pay for yourself, your deadline is due May 11th.
  • Ladies, are you interested in computer science. Then check out Queen of the Hill, a free 8-hour cyber-security event in Los Alamos for young women who are entering grades 7th-11th in fall 2015.

  • Are you interested in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM); then you may be interested in the STEM Voice Video Competition?  It's open to grades 5-12.  Cash prizes.  Deadline to submit is April 17th.
  • Take a look at the UNM Health Sciences Center STEAM-H Career Exploration Extravaganza Weekend!  If you are interested, let me know ASAP because we will need to apply as a group by April 17th.

* Did you know there is a national organization just for gifted students?  If interested, go to the National Society for the Gifted and Talented.  They provide scholarships for gifted students to pursue their passions and interests and sponsor SIG.
