Special Education at Merton Schools

The Merton Community School District provides a continuum of  services for those students who qualify for special education and related services. Each student who is found to be eligible for special education services has an individual education plan (IEP) developed that specifies the services that will be provided to the student to meet his/her needs. The IEP is developed by an IEP team which includes parents as well as school professionals who work together to develop a plan that meets the unique needs of the student.

Merton Schools strive to provide special education and related services within inclusive settings to the maximum extent that is appropriate based on each student's individual needs.
