Meet Ms. Monson

  • Grade level that I teach: 5K-6th grade Physical Education and K-8 Specially Designed Physical Education
  • Degree: B.S. degree in Physical Education, Health, Adaptive Physical Education and Coaching from the University of WI Oshkosh and M.S. degree in Specially Designed Physical Education from the University of WI LaCrosse in addition to certifications in School Leadership (Principal, Director of Special Education) from Marian University
  • Professional Development: Level 1 Google certified, CPI training, American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart School Liaison representative, PBIS Team
  • Number of years teaching: 25 of which 10 are at Merton
  • Outside of my passion of working with kids in my teaching job, I love spending time with my son participating in all outdoor sports/activities, especially watching him play hockey! I also have a passion for rescuing dogs and providing foster care for them.  Gymnastics is another love and has been a huge part of my life, both as a college gymnast and as a coach for many years!
  • I believe that ALL kids, regardless of their ability level, deserve to feel confident as a "mover" and deserve ample opportunities to grow and develop in their motor skills!
