Description: Course Prerequisites: Successful completion of U.S. History or senior status  Graduation Requirements Met:  This semester long course is required for all seniors and must be passed in order to graduate  Course Description:  This semester long course is designed for seniors. Students will learn about the purposes, types and functions of government.  This course will focus specifically on the American form of government, but students will also have an opportunity to compare various forms of government.  Special emphasis will be given to the American Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and on law-related/judicial branch topics.   Treatment of Alaska tribal governments will intersect and be reinforced in the both the government class and the AK Issues classes. Students will be assessed using a variety of tools including oral presentations, papers, quizzes and tests.
