Mt. Edgecumbe science teacher Cholla Moll, center, teaches a group of students from Mt. Edgecumbe and Sitka High Schools to snorkel recently on Japonski Island. The outing was part of an introduction to marine science for students enrolled in the National Ocean Science Bowl, a competition for high school students. The Alaska competition will be held in Seward in March. Pictured, from left: Mariam Eskander, Conner Fish, Moll, Ilham Saleh and Sokhna Sy. (Photo Courtesy of Daily Sitka Sentinel).
