Daniel P. Vezina, MD, M.Sc, FRCPC. Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer. In 2005, Dr. Vezina co-founded NAPE, a specialized continuing medical education (CME) content creation company. Since 2006, he has been operating NAPE as the CEO and Chief Medical Officer. His leadership and cost-conscious operating strategy allowed NAPE to gain extensive knowledge of the CME space and identify a unique opportunity in CME-driven advanced analytics. In 2008, he co-founded Guardsman Scientific, a medical device and software company addressing perioperative congestive heart failure. Dr. Vezina is a well-recognized world expert in perioperative and critical care cardiac ultrasound, as well as continuing medical education.
Henry E. Cobb, MBA.
Vice-President for Sales and Marketing. Mr. Cobb joined Anesta Corporation in 1998 as a
Market Research Manager and assisted in the positioning and sale of Actiq™ and
Anesta to Cephalon for $455 million.
Post-acquisition, he was ranked second in as a Senior Sales Specialist
for Cephalon, promoting Actiq™ growing the business from $2,000/month in sales
to over $750,000/month during his tenure and achieving President’s Club Award. In 1996, Mr. Cobb joined Chiron Corporation
in Emeryville, California as a Project Manager in the
Diagnostics Division. Mr. Cobb’s novel
application of Chiron’s proprietary nucleic acid technology for high-throughput
gene expression analysis led to a new business unit in Drug Discovery. The Diagnostics Division was acquired by
Bayer for $1.1B.
Jessica Smith, M.Eng., RAC. Vice-President Business Development. Ms. Smith has a broad background in the medical device industry. She has been a biomedical consultant for 10 years and has worked on a variety of projects from developing, writing, and reviewing FDA regulatory submission documents to directing clinical research and performing due diligence and market research for the purposes of making sound investment decisions in the biomedical and healthcare arenas.

Theodore H. Stanley, MD. Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board. Theodore H. Stanley, M.D. co-founded Anesta Corp. in 1985 and served as its Secretary and Founding Chairman. Dr. Stanley also served as Medical Director of Anesta Corp. from 1985 to 1994. In 1996, he co-founded ZARS Pharma, and served as the Co-Chairman until its acquisition by Nuvo Research, Inc in 2011. He served as Director of Research of University of Utah, where he was employed for 30 years. He is internationally known for his developmental work on opioids, other intravenous anesthetics and novel drug delivery techniques. He holds an A.B. degree from Columbia College. Dr. Stanley received an MD degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1965. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.
Rick Farnell. Rick built a successful career in the information technology industry by working in senior management positions across global services, sales and operations business units. Rick managed the Oracle and Hewlett-Packard accounts globally for Cambridge Technology Group. Rick helped incubate, build and IPO C-bridge, a Technology Services Company. He helped define Cbridge's Consulting methodology and managed successful client projects for retail, automotive, supply chain, financial services, manufacturing and oil and gas companies. He ran professional services practices in the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions. Rick managed Global Partner Sales and Business Development at eXcelon and helped integrate the sale of the company to Progress Software. At SeeBeyond, Rick managed Global Channels and Global Field Marketing and assisted in the sale and integration of the company to Sun Microsystems. Prior to the Oracle acquisition of Sun, Rick held the role of Director Worldwide Sales, Software Alliances and Channels. At Sun he was instrumental in a global joint venture with Accenture and assisted in the acquisition integration of mySQL. Rick is now President and Founder of Rapid Formation LLC and Rapid Formation Holdings both companies help incubate, model and scale startup technology companies. Rick is an advisory board member of Techniscan Medical Systems. Rick has a BA from Wesleyan University. Rick was born and raised in the Boston, Massachusetts area and now resides in Park City, Utah.
Greg F. Schenk, MBA. Following graduation from Harvard Business School, Mr. Schenk was a consultant with Temple, Barker & Sloane of Wellesley, Massachusetts. There he specialized in corporate finance and strategic planning. In 1980, he founded Cookietree Bakeries. Cookietree began business as a small retail cookie shop in Provo, Utah. Today, Cookietree Bakeries has national distribution and international reach, selling cookies and cookie dough in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America. He currently serves as a Director on the boards of InteliSum, Inc., VisualShare, Inc., the National Academy of Perioperative Echocardiography and Larada Sciences. Mr. Schenk has an A.B. in economics from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.
