About Me

Hello, my name is Mr. Vince Schmaltz and I am from Custer, South Dakota. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota where I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics Education with K-12 Educational Technology Endorsement in 2004. I enjoy traveling (completed a goal of mine during the summer of 2010 of visiting all 50 states), sports, hiking, and video games.

This is my nineteenth year teaching at Sturgis Brown High School. I have taught Math Computations, Pre-Algebra Applications, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Algebra Applications, Academy Math, Beginning Computer, Computer 1, SLC Computer, ICT 1, ICT 2/Multimedia, and Web Page Design. The Fall semester I will be teaching ICT 1, Web Page Design A, Computer Programming, and Academy Math. The Spring semester I will be teaching Web Page Design B, ICT 1, ICT 2/Multimedia, Computer Programming, and Academy Math.

I am a dedicated teacher that encourages all students to achieve high academic success. I have high expectations for all students. As the teacher, I will guide all students to be effective learners.
