MDI Drama presents two spring plays, Eurydice, by Sarah Ruhl, and Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock        Holmes Mystery, starting this weekend at Mount Desert Island High School. Both plays will be performed            during the next two weekends.

Eurydice is a modern reinterpretation in one act of the classic Greek myth of Orpheus, told this time from the     perspective of his wife Eurydice, played by Mary Paola. Dominic Marino plays Orpheus and Jacob Sanner        plays the Father. The members of the chorus are Bonnie Snyder, Rosie Avila, Dezi Zaman and Zach Uliano.        Irene Choi plays the Nasty Man/Child. "Eurydice" is directed by Frank Bachman.

Baskerville is a comedic two-act quick-change play of the classic Sherlock Holmes' story, The Hound of the        Baskervilles, and features 38 separate characters. Eric Graves plays Sherlock Holmes, who, assisted by Dr.        John Watson, played by Ethan Leonard, tries to prevent the murder of Sir Henry Baskerville, played by               Sammie Park, and discover the truth behind the legendary, brutal fiend said to haunt the moors of Devonshire.     The remainder of the roles are played by Desmond Reifsnyder, Anna Redgate, Eli Price and Grace "Rawl"        Blackett. Baskerville is directed by Chris Dougherty.

Eurydice opens on Friday, May 5 at 7 pm, with additional performances on Sunday, May 7 at 2                            pm and Saturday, May 13 at 7 pm.
