Pacificon Announcements

Unfortunately, the Digital Dinner has been canceled this year. This dinner is not hosted by Pacificon, but by another organization, and they are unable to host it this year. Instead, please join us at the MDARC Club open meeting on Friday evening, when Alan Thompson, W6WN, will cover some of the events in the Camp Fire, what his Team saw and heard there, and offer suggestions on ways to help our own community stay safer in the event of similar disasters here.

We have been scrambling to get all the details worked out for the upcoming Pacificon conference. Unfortunately, we hit several snags that have delayed some things. One of them is posting the full Forum schedule. We're working as hard as we can to get all our speakers fitted into appropriate time slots, and will post the full schedule as soon as we can. In the meantime, we're listing the speakers and their topics that have been confirmed on our Overview Schedule page. No worries, we'll have a full roster of speakers soon. Thankx for your patience.

More updates are afoot on the Pacificon web page:
* The Antenna Seminar speakers have been announced. Check them out, along with their topic summaries and biographies on the Antenna Seminar page.
* A second speaker has been added for our Banquet. A short talk will be given by this year's Young Ham of the Year, Dhruv Rebba, KC9ZJX. Dhruv will tell us about how he got into ham radio, his many projects, and what he thinks adults can do to support young hams. See the Banquet page.
* Details have been finalized on the QRP activities that will be happening on Friday and Saturday evenings. See the details on all the fun on the QRP page.

We regret to announce that our Wouff Hong ceremony has been CANCELLED for 2019, due to circumstance beyond our control. We hope to have it back next year.

Steve Stearns, K6IOK, will present Pacificon's first ever 1/2 day seminar on the design of antennas. Sunday morning in the San Ramon Boardroom. See the details on the Antenna Design Seminar page.

New kits have been announced for the Kit Building area.
All kits are only $5.00! See them on our Kit Building page.

Our Banquet Speaker has been announced! Bob Inderbitzen, NQ1R; ARRL Product Development Manager, will tell us about "Discovering Radio Communications". Bob will share a vision for growing a more active Amateur Radio Service. See our Banquet page for details.
