Mission: The mission of the Muscatine Community School District Gifted & Talented Program is to Ensure Excellence in Education All Day Every Day for Every Gifted Student through a Comprehensively Differentiated Continuum of Services

The Goals for our Programming:

1.     Identify approximately 5% of the student population for the program in proportion to the district’s diverse makeup wherein students will receive differentiated programming options.

2.     Provide rigorous learning opportunities in specific academic areas within and beyond the regular classroom curriculum.

3.     Select and serve g/t students based on individual needs, both cognitive and affective.

4.     Provide resources to classroom teachers to meet the needs of g/t students.

5.     Provide a variety of types and levels of programming all day, every day for g/t students in grades K-12 that are based on students’ intellectual readiness and affective needs.

6.     Enact a communication initiative to share information about all aspects of programs and services among the groups of constituents including students, parents, the community, regular classroom teachers, building administrators, central office personnel, Board members, and State Department of Education personnel.
