Hello!!! My name is Camecia Thomas and WELCOME to my page!!! I am a special education teacher at Park View High School and this is my second year of teaching. I taught previously in Brunswick County as a Severe and Profound Teacher at one of their elementary schools. I loved working with elementary students but I felt the DRAGON FEVER and had to come teach at Park View High. This year I will be teaching collaborative World History I, English 12 and U.S. and Virginia History.
I am proud to say that I am a LIBERTY FLAME!!! I graduated from Liberty University, in Lynchburg, Virginia, in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Management Information Systems and was looking forward to a career in Technology but something did not feel right. I felt I need to do something where I could help people and make a difference in the world. After much deliberation, I decided that I wanted to teach so I entered Liberty’s graduate program in education and this May I will graduate with honors with a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in Special Education. Go CLASS OF 2012!!!!
I have been married for 12 years to my husband, Dwayne and have two children, Cierra, 10 and Joshua, 5. We live in South Hill with our dog, Smokey. I love to spending time with my family. I have a passion for the Dallas Cowboys and I love working with the South Hill Yellow Jackets Cheerleading.
The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.
