Welcome to Mrs. Edwards's Class

Welcome to our fifth grade class at South Hill Elementary School. I am Betty Edwards and this is my sixteenth year teaching fifth grade at South Hill Elementary. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education from Slippery Rock University and my Master of Education, Reading Specialist degree from Longwood University. I enjoy teaching and am looking forward to a great year with some awesome students!
Please use this site to find homework assignments and test dates, updates about classroom activities, and dates for future events or activities.
On the Calendar page you will find homework assignments  as well as important dates posted each week.  You may use the Resources page to find a variety of PowerPoints and games to review the topics we are studying in science. I will be posting other documents such as permission forms for trips on this page as well. The science vocabulary page may be useful if your child forgets his/her notebook and needs the current vocabulary list to help with homework completion.
Throughout the year I will be adding math and science links that offer a chance for your child to review topics we are studying in class. These links may be for games or websites that support the science and math curriculum. . Please be assured that I will preview all sites to be sure they are appropriate for student use before adding links.
