Welcome to Mrs. Greene's third grade at LaCrosse Elementary! In my classroom you will learn about reading while making connections to other subjects. I believe that all students are able to learn, just at different paces and that learning should be fun. When we do fun activities, students remember them and then make the connections to learning for a lifetime.
I believe that reading is a very important part of a child's education. Children need a strong foundation in reading to be successful in all subject areas. I believe the more we read, the more we learn, and the more we learn the more we grow as learners.
My expectations are high, however each child should be able to attain them. I expect that each student ALWAYS do their BEST! I expect their best behavior. I expect their best manners. I expect their best attitude. I expect their best academic work. Everyone is able to give their best on anything they do and a student's best is all I can ask for. I also expect the BEST from my parents. I expect the best attitude, the best love, the best care, and the best encouragement that they can give. Learning begins at home and continues to grow there. If you give your best as a parent, your child will do the same.
This is my sixth year at LaCrosse Elementary however it is my 20th year of teaching. I have taught first grade, second grade, and title I. I am a reading specialist with a master's degree from Longwood University. I love teaching and seeing the children develop a love for reading and learning.
I am a resident of Mecklenburg County and have been all my life. I am married and we have two school aged children. I enjoy basketmaking, baking, camping, geocaching, and most of all spending time with my family.
