This is my 19th year to teach with Mecklenburg County Public Schools, and 6 1/2 years at Park View Middle School.  I have lived in Chase City almost 26 years. My husband and I love our four-legged child, Behr; he is a miniature dash-hound, age 3. We love day lilies, canna lilies, calla lilies, and irises.  I love my job because I get do what I love most --> teaching and encouraging children to become all that they can become, so their future is well. This year, I am pulling students for remediation, when they make under 75% on tests for any language arts skill (i.e. Story Elements, Figurative Language, Internal/External Text Structures, etc.).  I attended Union University in TN for my B.S. in Psychology & Social Sciences.  Then, I attended Longwood University to earn my M.S. Curriculum Specialist for Mild and Moderate Disabilities.  I teach Inclusion Language Arts, Grade 6 with Mrs. Arrington. I lead students and staff to contribute to our Relay for Life Team, "Life Savers 'R Us" as the Team Captain.  Also, I serve as the Debate Team Coach for Forensics; this is my 3rd year; two prior I was a debate judge. I also work with the 21st Century Program after school for remediation.

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.                                    Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.

I will be making myself available for writing OR reading skills during remediation, and then, I will make myself available one afternoon from 3:45 - 4:45 for writing as my students indicate a need for help with skills that will help them to succeed this year. Parents will need to pick their child up at 4:45 p.m.  If help is needed or if there are concerns, parents may call me at Park View Middle School @ (434) 447 -3761 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.  Parents may also call me at home @ (434) 372 - 5419 from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m.  If I do not answer, please leave a voice mail.
