Counselor Bio

My name is Kim Gauen. I grew up in Aurora, Colorado and moved to Wisconsin after receiving my Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Colorado State University. I began working for the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District in November 2010 when I was hired as an Admin Assistant for the district Student Services Department and the 21st Century eSchool Principal. In August 2012, I transitioned to a full-time Admin Assistant position in the 21st Century eSchool and began pursuing my Masters in School Counseling at Concordia University both through online and face-to-face courses. During the 2013-14 school year I also had the opportunity to work as a part time counselor at Kromrey Middle School as I was completing my degree.

As a former Coloradan, I am a huge Denver Broncos fan, though I am happy to cheer for the Packers as long as they are playing other teams. I also love traveling abroad and road-tripping around the United States visiting friends and family. I have been playing the violin since 3rd grade and can often be found playing in the Middleton Community Orchestra.

I am extremely passionate about students, education and our program. If there is anything I can do to further support your student's educational journey, do not be afraid to ask!
