Event Synopsis

Event Synopsis:

The Ninth Annual McLean Chocolate Festival, managed by the McLean Rotary Club, is a community and family-based event held on the last Sunday in January at the McLean Community Center.

Our goals are to:

Ø  Bring out local residents during a relatively quiet winter time to an event that is fun for the whole family

Ø  Promote McLean businesses and the Rotary Club of McLean

Ø  Raise funds for the Rotary Club of McLean to support local and international charitable and educational programs

There are 18 businesses selling something chocolate or related products (cakes, cupcakes, cookies, drinks, ice cream, etc.).  The Rotary Club of McLean retains 25% of all vendor proceeds.

What Can I Do at the Festival?

Vendors will be selling all things chocolate in two rooms at the the McLean Community Center. Another room will present live entertainment suitable for the whole family throughout the day. There will be a separate room where patrons can see a colonial America chocolate-making demonstration by American Heritage, a Mars Company. There is space throughout the building for patrons to eat their treats. McLean High Interact Club students and Langley High students will conduct chocolate-related games for children in the DuVal art studio at the Community Center. In the lobby behind the admissions table there will be a Marketplace where patrons can purchase items and gift certificates from local businesses. Only one of each item will be offered at a reduced price so come early!  Patrons can also purchase raffle tickets for three chocolate baskets and a chocolate pearl necklace.

Local businesses have banners hanging throughout the building during the event. There is also a separate room of five non-food or beverage organizations providing information.

The Rotary Club of McLean, an all-volunteer service organization, staffs the event.

The festival will be held from 11 AM to 5 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2020. There is no inclement weather date.
