Charlie Trotter's Educational Foundation Invite!

posted Feb 18, 2011, 8:50 PM by lbridges@mcas.k12.in.us

Dear Chef Lauren Bridges:

We are looking forward to hosting your students for dinner on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 and Thursday, May 19, 2011. The evening will commence promptly at 4:30 PM and you can expect to be with us for approximately two and a half (2.5) hours.

A total of 20 guests are invited to join us. We prefer 17-18 students and 2-3 chaperons.

A few things to keep in mind prior to joining us:

  1. Please speak with the students about Charlie Trotter’s—you can view our website (www.charlietrotters.com) for information, as well as contact me directly for any questions you may have.

  2. This program is not intended for just those students interested in culinary arts: it is designed for students inspired by and striving for excellence in their academic, athletic, professional and personal lives. We do not have a preference of which students join us; however, we do ask that they be at least the junior and senior grade level.

  3. The students will be treated the same way all of our guests are treated, so we ask that proper attire is worn. Jackets are requested of gentlemen and semi-formal attire for the ladies joining us. Please refrain from wearing sneakers, jeans, sweatshirts and T-shirts.

  4. Upon their arrival, the students will be given a tour of the restaurant and introduced to our entire team of chefs and servers. Each student will be interviewed thoroughly for dietary restrictions and food allergies before our chefs begin cooking for them.

  5. This is designed to be an inter-active dinner, so we ask that each student have 2-3 questions prepared for our team. The questions can be of any topic, and no questions are considered “silly”.

  6. We ask that feedback be given by the Principal and/or chaperones after the evening. We are always striving to be better, and we welcome any and all comments/suggestions. Please call or email me directly when you are ready. My contact information is listed below.

  7. Bussed students should be dropped off by 4:30pm and picked up by 7pm in front of the restaurant. Buses may park at near by Lincoln Park HS. We do not recommend taking separate cars as this is a residential neighborhood and parking is difficult to find.

Thank you for your assistance in organizing this dinner. We look forward to meeting you and your students.

Kindest regards,

Jesse Talley
