Thanks to all who participated in the Library's October Book in a Jar game. Out of the many entries, only 6 people guessed the correct book - "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving! The 3 winners are: Darren Lu (staff), Yu Yu Ho (G9) & Kavya Bansal (G6). These people can stop by the library to pick up their prize - a student store coupon worth NT$40. All who guessed the correct book are automatically entered in the big prize drawing to be held at the end of the school year. Congrats to the winners!



Jibei Mission Team

We're selling Liang Pi again for JIBEI MISSIONS TEAM!!! We also added some new food items for you to try. Go check out the form and see what we added. Order from us so you can enjoy a yummy dinner meal. All proceeds will go towards Jibei missions trip. Please fill out the google form by the END of LUNCH on Wednesday if interested. The Pulo missions team is fundraising for their trip in 2 weeks. On Wednesday, Nov. 6, the Pulo missions team will be delivering Pumpkin Chocolate Chip loaves and Mini Pumpkin Tarts. Athletics - 

TISSA Tournament Results

The Lady Mustangs Volleyball team and the Mustang Soccer Team both wrapped up their seasons on Saturday defending their TISSA titles.  Both teams had received first-round byes due to their perfect run of divisional play.  

 

The Lady Mustangs defeated MAK in straight sets to retain their crown, while the boys defeated TES with an emphatic win to win the championship. 

 

Fall Athletics Awards Night - Monday, November 11 @ 7pm. We will celebrate the accomplishments and highlights of the fall swimming, volleyball and soccer seasons.

The Mustangs play host to both the Varsity Boys Soccer Finals and Girls Volleyball finals tomorrow. 

Both teams have a first-round, quarterfinal bye as they both are the #1 seed in their tournaments. 

 

Here is the schedule for tomorrow's contests:

Semi-Final Match:  MAC vs Quarterfinal winner (KAS vs MAT) @ 12:30pm

Technology- Google Branded Accounts

Are you having trouble accessing content on Youtube or GooglePhotos with your school Google Account? It may be because it is a "Branded Account".

Google has suspended "Branded Accounts" for all education accounts. 

You have till Oct 31st to check with the technology help desk, or e-mail taichungsupport@mca.org.tw. On Nov 1st content and accounts will be deleted.

 

 

Final AP Exam Registration Step:

For those who signed up to take AP Exams in May (not enrolled in an AP class):

According to the new AP rules all students wanting to take an AP exam will have to go to CollegeBoard website to complete the registration. You should have already received an email with the AP join codes for the AP Exams.  You must do this last step before your registration is complete. Deadline will be this Friday, Nov. 1 or your exam will not be ordered.

 

 

Kim Chi for sale!

Please support the Junior Carnival! Korean moms are preparing to sell Kim Chi to support Junior Carnival. Our goal is to sell 250 containers of Kim Chi.  It’s 1Kg and 250NT per container. You can fill out the pre-order form (10/22-11/1).

Parent Date Night!

The Sarawak Service Team will be hosting a child-care event on Friday, November 1 from 5-9pm in the Morrison gym. This event is for toddlers up through children in grade 5. Domino's Pizza will be provided along with a viewing of Disney's Wreck it Ralph. The cost is NT$600/child for the first two kids per family and NT$300 for each additional child in the family.  To register for the event, please sign up in the front office or email Ryan Jacobi (jacobir@mca.org.tw). For those who signed up to take AP Exams in May (not enrolled in an AP class):

According to the new AP rules all students wanting to take an AP exam will have to go to CollegeBoard website to complete the registration. You should have already received an email with the AP join codes for the AP Exams.  You must do this last step before your registration is complete. Deadline will be this Friday, Nov. 1 or your exam will not be ordered.

Parent Date Night!

The Sarawak Service Team will be hosting a child-care event on Friday, November 1 from 5-9pm in the Morrison gym. This event is for toddlers up through children in grade 5. Domino's Pizza will be provided along with a viewing of Disney's Wreck it Ralph. Attention all 9th-11th Graders! The PSAT/NMSQT has taken the place of MAP testing and will be used from now on to measure your progress from year to year. ALL 9th to 11th graders will be taking the PSAT (not PSAT 10 or PSAT 8/9) on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 8 am to noon. Juniors, please report to the Science Basement by 8 am. Sophomores and Freshmen, please go to the Commons Basement by 8 am. Please bring a calculator and a pencil to take the test.

There is a practice guide/packet for each of you in the CC so please come by to pick that up. Come by the CC if you have any questions.

PSAT/NMSQT

Attention all 9th-11th Graders! The PSAT/NMSQT has taken the place of MAP testing and will be used from now on to measure your progress from year to year. ALL 9th to 11th graders will be taking the PSAT (not PSAT 10 or PSAT 8/9) on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 8 am to noon. Juniors, please report to the Science Basement by 8 am. Sophomores and Freshmen, please go to the Commons Basement by 8 am. Please bring a calculator and a pencil to take the test.

There is a practice guide/packet for each of you in the CC so please come by to pick that up. Come by the CC if you have any questions.

Are you having trouble accessing content on Youtube or GooglePhotos with your school Google Account? It may be because it is a "Branded Account".

Google has suspended "Branded Accounts" for all education accounts. 

You have till Oct 31st to check with the technology help desk, or e-mail taichungsupport@mca.org.tw. On Nov 1st content and accounts will be deleted.

 

 

Final AP Exam Registration Step:

For those who signed up to take AP Exams in May (not enrolled in an AP class):

According to the new AP rules all students wanting to take an AP exam will have to go to CollegeBoard website to complete the registration. You should have already received an email with the AP join codes for the AP Exams.  You must do this last step before your registration is complete. Deadline will be this Friday, Nov. 1 or your exam will not be ordered.

Model UNs are educational simulations where participants role-play as representatives of different countries to debate on current and pressing issues. In the process they create solutions to these issues and draft their ideas in a resolution. We are currently gauging student interest for a number of MUN conferences around Taiwan that will take place during the second semester. Please fill out the form by this Friday (Oct 25). Fulong Mission Team is doing a pre-order for Slice & Dice Pizza! We’ll be selling 20-inch Pizzas for NT600 each. The pizzas will be delivered on Wednesday, October 30th, at 3:30pm in front of the Student Store. A business at risk, a wedding in jeopardy, a cat named Twinkle:  in a world where toasters multiply and tea-sets are destroyed, one woman stands between an innocent family and the agonies of social awkwardness. This weekend, come see the British comedy Goodnight Mrs. Puffin by Arthur Lovegrove, presented by the high school drama department. Performances are on Friday and Saturday, 10/25-26 at 7:30pm in the Auditorium.  Tickets are now being sold in the front office, so reserve your seats and get your tickets now! Please support the Junior Carnival! Korean moms are preparing to sell Kim Chi to support Junior Carnival. Our goal is to sell 250 containers of Kim Chi.  It’s 1Kg and 250NT per container. You can fill out the pre-order form (10/22-11/1).

There are five (5) sessions over the course of 3 days of competition.

The Sarawak Service Team will be hosting a child-care event on Friday, November 1 from 5-9pm in the Morrison gym. This event is for toddlers up through children in grade 5. Domino's Pizza will be provided along with a viewing of Disney's Wreck it Ralph. Thursday, October 31 -  Tryouts for non-soccer Freshman and Sophomores - 3:45 - 5:45

Friday, November 1 - Tryouts for non-soccer Freshman and Sophomores - 3:45 - 5:45

Monday, November 4 - Tryouts for soccer-players and by invitation only - 3:45 - 5:45 (lower gym)
