Early Release Day
On Friday, February 10th we will be releasing at 11:00. Teachers will spend the remainder of the day completing the reports necessary for NEASC (our accreditation organization). Beginning in March teachers and administration at the high school will begin receiving training on the new educator evaluation system which has been regulated by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. More information about this will be forthcoming in the upcoming months.
School Improvement Council
The school improvement council met for the second time this year last week. We reviewed student pass/fail rates for the first half of the year and proposed budget information for next school year. The group discussed the impact that the current direction from town hall regarding budget would have on the high school. Parents who wish to weigh in on this issue should contact the appropriate officials.
Did you know...
Recent acceptance letters have been received from Marist College (scholarship), SUNY Binghamton, Wheelock College, Stonehill College, University of Wisconsin, Plymouth State, Keene State, and Westfield State University.
Of particular note, recently one of our students was accepted at Goucher College in Maryland. Goucher received 3800 applications for just over 450 slots! Congratulations to all our seniors who have received acceptance letters this year!
Our Mock Trial Team continues to improve! Despite it being only their second trial they narrowly missed winning the competition against a much more seasoned opponent. Today is their last match-up. Great job!
Our boys basketball team has won 6 games in a row! They had a great game last Friday night, due in part to the outstanding support in the stands.
SUPPORT OUR TIGERS!
Next Wednesday there will be a scholarship application session in the library. Students should see their guidance counselors for more information.
Did you know that you can establish a scholarship to honor someone special to you? Scholarships can be put in place for as little as one year and $100.00. Contact Renee Muise at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. A great gift to honor a retirement, anniversary, etc.
Have a good week!
