How do you learn a foreign language?  There are many ways to learn a foreign language, but how did you learn English?  You heard it being spoken all around you from the minute you were born.  The first thing you did was to simply LISTEN to it for the first few years of your life, before you finally began SPEAKING in ways that someone other than your mom could understand.  In kindergarten, you learned how to READ and also WRITE.  These are the four ways in which we use language.  In my classroom, you'll be practicing each of these skills: LISTENING, SPEAKING, READING and WRITING, but you'll be doing those skills IN GERMAN.  The more German you hear, say, read and write, the better you'll get at it.  Be patient with yourself, you still don't know all the words that exist in English, do you?  You still make spelling mistakes in English, right?  So, don't be afraid to make mistakes.  The only way to learn German is to TRY!  And, who knows, you may have a little fun and even LIKE the class!
