This Week…

Math- We are learning about shapes (circle, square, rectangle, oval, triangle, hexagon, octagon, star, diamond).  We practiced sorting these shapes by color and then by shape. We are also learning new position words, so we can identify where an object is located.

Phonics- We are learning to recognize ALL Uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet. We are trying to identify each sound the letters make. We are learning to write letters using the “Sky line”, “Grass Line”, “Worm line”, and the “Plane Line” to help form letters correctly.

Reading- We have been reading lots of stories, and tracking the print from the left to the right side. We are also learning about the book’s “Title Page”, including the Title of the story, Author’s name (Who wrote the book), and the Illustrator (Person who drew the pictures of the story).

Writing- We are learning to write our first name, using an Uppercase letter to start our name and all lowercase letters for the rest of our names.

We are also learning to draw things to help illustrate our thoughts, and we will begin to label our pictures next week!

Social Studies- We have been sharing “All About Ourselves”. We are learning the Rules of the classroom and School, and trying to get “Clip-ups” for good behavior! We are also showing “kindness” to others and learning how to be a GOOD FRIEND!
