Rep. Clarence Choate Clark, Esq.                       COURT OF APPEALS

MUNICIPAL COURT BUILDING

                                                                   BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF ESSEX

        Pursuant to the following motion,

It is hereby ordered, by the Honorable Angus G. Schmidt, in regards to the matter of The State of Massachusetts v. Estate of Humbert Humbert, in the matter of publication of manuscript hereby entitled “Lolita”.  It is ruled that suppressing or prohibiting the publication of aforementioned manuscript is in violation of the First Amendment to the United States Bill of Rights.  Failure to allow publishing of manuscript could be considered “punitive censorship” and is in clear violation.  The courts do not find the aforementioned manuscript to be in violation of obscenity regulations and does not present a danger to society.  It is hereby ordered that Clarence Choate Clark, Esq. be given all legal rights to the estate of Humbert Humbert and allowed to publish “Lolita” as protected under the First Amendment; specifically in relation to Freedom of Speech.
