Manchester Employees' Contributory Retirement System (MECRS)

The Manchester Employees' Contributory Retirement System is a public pension fund covering eligible regular full-time employees, elected and appointed officials who work at least 32 hours per week for the Manchester School District. The Contributory Retirement System is a defined benefit plan qualified as tax exempt under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are established by referendum: the current rate is 5% annually. Employees are vested in the plan after five years of service. The amount of the retirement benefit is based on the member's years of service, age, and higher average salary over a three year period within the last ten years of employment with the School District. Participation is required for those positions eligible to participate with MECRS.

MECRS can be reached by phone at 603-624-6506
