Pat Adamson

Pat Adamson has worked in education for over forty years.
She has been a classroom teacher, resource teacher, reading clinician and curriculum coordinator.

Pat has facilitated professional learning opportunities in the areas of reading development and assessment with a focus on comprehension strategy instruction, assessment and instruction in the writing process, and comprehensive literacy program planning. She is a member of the writing team for Literacy Place for the Early Years and Moving Up with Literacy Place, the first comprehensive literacy programs written for Canadian teachers, published by Scholastic Canada. Pat has also instructed literacy courses at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Education.

Pat believes in the importance of professional learning that is collaborative and connected to real classroom situations. Understanding students’ strengths and needs is the foundation for creating learners who can successfully use literacy to extend their learning across the curriculum.
