Snorkeling/SCUBA/Fishing

Return to the The Maine Stay FAQ page

Snorkeling... If you want to do snorkeling from our beach/pier, you may want to consider bringing your own gear for the best fit and comfort. If you go on one of the snorkel or scuba diving tours, gear will be provided, or you can use your own. The snorkeling off the beach in front of the cabanas is quite good. There are several coral beds near the pier. Having said that, the BEST snorkeling is with a tour guided day trip to the barrier reef.  The photo below is right in front of The Maine Stay.

SCUBA... The Peninsula dive shops below all provide full service dive and training experiences.

Seahorse Dive Shop

Robert's Grove Dive Shop

Fishing... the best fishing is with a guide to the inner cayes or the barrier reef. Check out information here.  Fishing guides will provide gear/tackle, but the serious fishing enthusiast (especially the fly fishing folks) will want to bring their "stuff."

Those of you who would like to fish from our pier or our lagoon Marina and Canal, can rent gear and tackle st Singing Sands Resort (520-8022)... just a short distance north on the Peninsula Road.
