When I was younger, my parents would take my brother and I to visit historical/educational locations for our vacations. I've been to Washington, D.C. to see the White House, Mount Vernon, the Smithsonian and various other monuments; the Gettysburg Museum in Pennsylvania; the Statue of Liberty and ground zero in New York; and more that I can't remember from the top of my head.
Aside from the educational aspects of vacation, we would also take scenic vacations to enjoy the outdoors. We've visited several mountains [summer and winter], gardens, and countrysides.
Just for fun, here are the places I've been:
States: Alaska, California, Colorado, Georgia, Maine, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia
Other: Bahamas, Belize, Canada (Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria), England, Ireland, Jamaica, Mexico, Wales
I am fortunate to have the ability to travel during my vacations and hope that I will have opportunities to visit new places and see new sights for many years to come.
