Freshmen students in SNU's Arts and Culture Learning Community created an online portfolio to gather all of their projects in one place and reflect on what they learned over the course of the year. The students divided their portfolios into sections that reflect the university's mission statement (see below). The portfolios collected assignments from four themed and linked courses, Rhetoric I and II, Aesthetic Analysis, and Christian Faith and Life, in which they were enrolled over the course of the 2009-10 academic year. Each course applied the theme of art and culture by giving students the opportunity to explore human creativity in our culture academically and experientially (through observation, creation and service).

Our mission is to transform lives through higher education in Christ-centered community. As a Christian community of scholars, we model the hospitality of grace, the pursuit of truth, and the practice of discipleship, all within the Wesleyan-holiness tradition, as we prepare graduates who think with clarity, act with integrity, and serve with purpose.
