On November 5, 2015, KIDS WI organized an Employer Education Event for store managers at the Outlets at the Dells as part of the group's work as an Employment First Partner.  The event was held in the Crystal Room at Buffalo Phil's and was attended by a group of 19 employers.
Ann Sievert of the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities provided information regarding the benefits of integrated employment.  Including statistics that show workers diagnosed with a disability hold their jobs 45% longer than their non-disabled counterparts and that 87% of respondents to a national survey regarding integrated employment reported that they are MORE likely to offer repeat patronage to a business that visibly employs workers with disabilities.
Elena Rulseh, Business Services Consultant for the region surrounding the Dells provided information related to the incentives available to employers when considering a candidate for employment who will require job carving, additional training, or on-the-job supports in order to assist employers in finding and providing those items.
The group was excited to begin the process of actively recruiting employees for positions in their stores.  If you or someone you know, is seeking employment and the Outlets at the Dells (formerly Tanger Mall) is one of the locations you are considering, please contact Tammi Biddle at tammi@kidswi.org for more information about making contact with employers interested in integrated employment.
