 Today we will go over several assignments to prepare for tomorrow's test.  We will have our final Q & A for the unit!  I have attached several answer keys for assignments which you may find helpful to review at your leisure.  These are your items for review:   1) Online Practice Quiz 2) All Notes and Problems from Unit 3) Case Study on Ratings 4) Chapter 1 Review 5) Unit 1 Highlights Handout (checklist for what you should know. 6) Special Problem 1A 7) Guided Notes 8) Studyblue Vocab   HW: Study for Test; Text p. 100-111 #1.51, 1.53, 1.58, 1.60, 1.61ab, 1.62, 1.65, 1.66, 1.68, 1.70 (check answers below).  You do not have to turn these in so how much you write is optional BUT please make sure that you read the problems and check the answer key for understanding.   Chapter 1 Guided Notes due tomorrow!!

 We will do a linear transformation activity on Miami Heat basketball players to determine how adding or multiplying by a number will affect the data.  We will enter our vocab concepts from Chapter 1 and have some work time.   HW: * Finish Chapter 1 Reading and guided notes * Text p. 97-99 #1.45, 1.47, 1.50, 1.54 * Check Ch 1 textbook problems (answers attached below)   Due tomorrow * Case Study * Chapter 1 Online Quiz (textbook website) * Chapter 1 Problems

 Today, we will discuss choosing appropriate measures based on the data.  We will do a Matching Graphs Activity (III), go over the quiz, and (if time permits) do a baseball graphing activity using boxplots for analysis.  I have attached a really good supplemental summary of what we have learned in this unit, if you'd like to look over it.   HW: p. 89-90 #1.39, 1.40 (you may want to look ahead at the next few assignments, since this is brief)

 Today, we will begin section 1.2 by reviewing the highlights of the unit using a handout.  We will generate box and whisker plots & 5# summaries using the calculator.  We will discuss center and spread.   HW: p. 82 #1.33, 1.36, 1.37   Events this week:  Case Closed due Thursday 8/23 Online Practice Quiz due Thursday 8/23 Chapter 1 HW Problems due 8/23 Guided Notes due Friday 8/24 Unit 1 Test on Friday 8/24

 Today we will start by matching graphs to variables and describing the displays using SOCS.  We will recap 1.1 with a notes sheet.   **QUIZ Tomorrow over P and 1.1**   HW: Review 1.1 p. 67-69 #1.21-1.23, 1.26 and check all answers from Chapter P & 1 for assigned problems (see attached)

 Today we will go over the the answers from the summer assignment and enter our vocabulary concepts for Chapter P.  We will look at the answers from last night's homework.    HW: Read and note through #1.7, 1.8, 1.10-1.13, 1.16, 1.18, continue to work on vocabulary terms

 We will finish our Distracted Driving Activity by creating a distribution of the number of distracted drivers that result "just by chance".  We will do a team Q & A on the summer assignment.  Students will receive Chapter 1 objectives, guided notes, and Chapter 1 vocabulary terms.   HW: Read and note through #1.1-1.3, 1.5 & work on vocabulary terms as you read.
