Welcome to English 1A Online!

About me:
I have been a full-time instructor in the English Department at CCSF since January 2011. Before coming to CCSF, I taught at Laney College, College of Marin, Contra Costa College, and Mills College. After teaching at all of those colleges, I have found that the students at CCSF are far more interesting people and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom that I have not found anywhere else!

About the class:
My online class has a social justice focus. We will read articles and books that focus on social justice in the criminal justice system, in education, and in the international community. We will also examine what makes good people act badly and the role our cultural values play in that.

In English 1A online, I get to know you through the online platform which is only as much as you make it! Please enjoy yourself in the class, learn how to voice your opinion and share your valuable experience that can help other students see the issues from a new angle.
