CDEV72- Supervised Fieldwork - Sharon Donovan

Welcome to CDEV 72, Child Growth and Development Supervised Fieldwork online!

There will be two required face-to-face meetings on campus, one is an orientation, and the other the final assessment. They are truly required!! These two mandatory sessions will be on Wednesdays, September 4th and December 18th from 3:00- 6:00 p.m. in MUB 255.

The content for the rest of the course (readings, videos, quizzes) will be delivered online. Students will also communicate with each other about content, their field placements, and application of course material to their practicum settings through online forums. The forums will be a very important part of the course.

As with other sections of CDEV 72, there is a requirement of 90 hours of fieldwork during the semester. Students will be placed at the CCSF Child Development Centers on the Ocean Campus and Mission Center, or at one of the Department's approved mentor sites. The list of mentor sites is released at the orientation session.

Students should obtain a TB test from the Student Health Center as soon as they are enrolled. A new California law also mandates immunizations for anyone working or volunteering in a child care center. These include Measles, Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Influenza. Please watch for more information about this.

The class is likely to be full. There is an electronic waiting list until the first day of instruction. After that,  I'll also keep an interest list and will contact students if spots open up. As always, during the add period priority is determined by registration date.

Looking forward to meeting you!
