Welcome to my CCSF instructional site. Resources for my courses are attached here (subject to change anytime before the beginning of the semester!). I hope you find them useful. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.
If you are looking for information about my online hybrid English 1A classes, please read the syllabus and FAQs posted below. Note that for Spring 2015 there are several required on-campus meetings, dates listed above. Please do not add the class if you cannot attend all the on-campus sessions. You will not be able to access our online class portal (http://insight.ccsf.edu) until the first day of the semester. In the meantime, it may be helpful for you to prepare for online learning by visiting: http://www.ccsf.edu/Departments/Distance_Education/students.htm. I also highly recommend that you take this Student Readiness Questionnaire: http://www.ccsf.edu/Departments/Distance_Education/self_eval.htm
Hoping to add?? Please read FAQs (posted below) for information about eligibility and adding. I take care of all adds during our Orientation meeting (dates above).
Course Repeatability: Be aware that you are only allowed to re-take a class at CCSF two times, so if you receive a D, F or W twice, you will only have one more chance to take the course (your third chance). After a third unsuccessful attempt, you will have to complete your English requirement up to English 1A at another college. Once you have passed a course equivalent to 1A, you may return to take English 1B or 1C at CCSF if you wish. In order to take English 1A for the third time, you will have to file a Petition for Course Repetition. This process means you cannot register for the course before the semester starts. You have to first get an add code once classes start, and then fill out a petition, which must then be signed by the English Eligibility Coordinator (Batmale 514), then Admissions and Records (Conlan Hall, first floor). Note that this presents some challenges for those interested in my online courses, because you cannot access the course portal until you are officially registered (unlike an in-person class where you can attend as you are waiting for the paperwork to be filed). Please keep this in mind.
Spring 2015 syllabi coming soon!
