Dental CareTips

There are multiple ways to help protect your child from having a cavity. To help reduce their risk and to protect their gums, teach them these few simple steps:
*Brush twice a day with toothpaste that contains fluoride to help remove and protect against plaque build-up
*Floss daily to help remove plaque near your gums
*Try to limit sugary and starchy foods to help minimize tooth decay
*Make sure your child goes to the dentist every 6 months for a                         professional cleaning and check-up.

  • Early Childhood cavities are the #1 chronic disease affecting young children.
  • Early childhood cavities are 5 times more common than asthma and 7 times more common than hay fever.
  • If a child has a toothache, he/she may not be as focused in class.
