Civics and Economics, April 23rd - April 27th

Andrew 5k Fun Run @ Hoover Ridge on Saturday, April 28th (8 am)
Can anyone take down Mr. Resnick??

We are definitely in the homestretch now!!! Spring Break is over and this week students will begin the final section of this course. The main focus of Units 7, 8 and 9 is economics. Particularly an introduction into basic principles with a little bit of personal finance tied in as well. Concepts will include supply and demand, price, opportunity cost as well as a dip into the stock market.

This week students will be researching their chosen leaders of business. That's right, students have begun their final project of the year, an individual assignment where a teacher-approved business person gets chosen and learned about. Students determine important personal characteristics about successful entrepreneurs.

Of course, we will continue to keep track of all the current events going on throughout the state, country and world. Homework almost every weekend will correspond. And soon we will gear up for an independent research paper.
