We are very excited to welcome everyone back to school for another fabulous year of learning! We hope that you all enjoyed your summer vacation and are now well rested and ready to put learning into high gear. We have many wonderful learning opportunities available this year and our goal is to help every child in our classroom reach their full potential and leave first grade fully prepared for second grade and beyond!
We have made a few changes in first grade over the summer. We said goodbye to Ms. Elbling who has moved on to a school closer to home so she can spend more time with her son, we wish her our very best! We can now say "Hello" to our new first grade teacher, Ms. Dotseth, who comes to us from another Madison school, Madison Heights. We are also very fortunate to have TWO teacher candidates working with our team this year. Miss Haranzo and Mrs. Melendrez will be working with Ms. DiGiacinto and Mrs. Baldwin to give our students the advantage of two teachers in the classroom, while honing their already fantastic teaching skills in preparation for their own classrooms next year. Please join us in welcoming these three fantastic ladies to the Camelview community!!
You can help your child at home this year by communicating often with your child's teacher and providing a routine at home for completing homework, eating right, and getting enough rest each night. You can also encourage your child's learning by reading to or with them every day, providing opportunities for them to write, and speaking with your child often to encourage them to share their thoughts, ideas, and opinions. Try to turn regular daily activities into learning activities for your child to keep their skills sharp and help us prepare them for second grade.
