My name is Annette Maxwell.  I started here at Madison Academy High School in August, and I am very excited to be working in a new school with new students and staff.  Everyone I have met so far has been welcoming and I definitely feel like a valued member of something positive and important.

I've been working in education since 2000; I taught in an alternative classroom for six years, then I was an admissions and academic advisor at Wayne State University.  Before I earned my counseling degree, I worked as a Higher Education Consultant for a RESA, teaching school counselors, parents, and students how to prepare for, research, apply and pay for college.   Since becoming a counselor, I've worked at a small rural high school in Memphis and larger urban schools ( a high school, primary school, and intermediate school) on the Ferndale/Detroit border.    Aside from being a licensed school counselor, I am also a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor with clinical therapeutic experience, specializing on crisis counseling with children.

I can be reached by calling the school's main line at (810) 875-9050, or via email at amaxwell@madison-academy.org
