Workshop for Teachers

July 09-13, 2018  MacEwan University

Inspiring Innovation through Technology is a week-long series of workshops centred around the theme of innovation and technology. The goal of this event is to provide hands on, active learning workshops to educators where they will be given an opportunity to learn new technologies and to create curriculum with the purpose of bringing the knowledge and experience back to their classrooms to inspire and engage the next generation of thinkers and tinkerers.

The event will host a series of three session streams including:

Robotics, Internet of Things, and Sustainable Design.

Specific topics include:

Robotics: Micro-Controllers, Sensors, Actuators, and Control
Sustainable Design: Biomimicry and 3D Printing with Eco-Materials
Internet of Things: Smart Technologies and Cyber Security

The workshops are open to all types of educators at a small fee of $100 CAD per participant which will be used to pay for the cost of the lunches provided during the event. As a campus committed to sustainability, participants can apply for support for ETS transit passes during the event. In addition, support for up to 5 out-of-town participants will be made available for the duration of the event.
