As a best practice, Blackboard Support will be deleting Blackboard courses that are over six academic terms old. This threshold for course deletion was reached after consultation with and approval by the Blackboard Faculty Advisory Group, made up of MacEwan faculty members.
Please note these important points regarding the removal of Blackboard courses:
The removal process will be undertaken annually in June.
ONLY academic courses created via integration with PeopleSoft will be removed, i.e. courses that look like this in your Blackboard "My Courses" list:
ENGL-211-CF80(1) – 2014 Wint – Business Communications
Master courses owned by faculty, Resources Courses, wherein students have been manually enrolled, and Committee courses will NOT be removed.
Fall 2013 term Blackboard Pilot courses (approx. 22 courses used for academic purposes)
Winter 2014 term academic courses. (The first term Blackboard Learn was available to most faculty. It was used in tandem with Blackboard CE8 during this term.)
The deadline for saving content from a course or saving an entire course is May 31. After that date the specified courses may be deleted.
Follow these instructions to save content from your course.
Please note: this process will only save course content from your Blackboard course (i.e. documents such as Word files, PowerPoint and PDF's); it will NOT save grades information or any student-related activity in the course.
