Blackboard Learn is integrated with PeopleSoft such that
all courses scheduled in PeopleSoft will automatically appear in Blackboard Learn,
instructors associated with each course and students registered in the course will automatically be enrolled in the Blackboard Learn course, and
any change in enrollment information is updated in Blackboard Learn every six hours.
Courses scheduled in PeopleSoft will appear in Blackboard Learn 90 days prior to the course start date as specified in PeopleSoft. For the majority of courses (but not all!) this period is equivalent to the beginning of the upcoming academic term.
When courses are created automatically via the PeopleSoft integration, they are unavailable by default, and therefore not accessible to students. When the course is ready for students to view at the beginning of the term, instructors must manually make the course available to students (here's how).
Blackboard courses created via the PeopleSoft integration are empty shells without content. Depending on individual needs, instructors may choose to:
Option 1: copy their previous Blackboard Learn course to the new course shell,
Option 2: work directly within these new course shells each term, or
Option 3: have a Master course created (using this form), add content to that Master and then copy all content to the new course shell to be delivered during the term.
Attending a Blackboard Learn Essentials training session will help you decide which option to chose.
