Class Objective

This 7th grade class will teach skills that will help a student be successful in school and in life.  Topics include teamwork, organizational skills, listening skills, note taking, memory tricks, test taking strategies, setting goals, multiple intelligences, careers and service learning.  The class will rotate with Phy Ed class.

Why call the class K.E.Y.S?

As we know, keys can open up locked things such as doors, locks, etc.  Having a key to open up things empowers the person to decide which things he/she wants to unlock.  The name K.E.Y.S was chosen because it symbolizes opening up the opportunities for success in the classroom and in life.

One Rule

My one rule encompasses all behavior decisions – RESPECT.  RESPECT is a two-way street – I will RESPECT all students and I expect all students to RESPECT me in return.   I also expect all students to RESPECT each other and no bullying or negative talk to peers will be tolerated.
